Whenever I have milk in tea, coffee or with fruits, I experience discomfort in the form of either gas or having to rush to the bathroom to pee or poop. I am overweight but I have also read online that lactose intolerance causes bloating, so perhaps the two are related in my case. Is there a natural remedy or perhaps any prescribed drugs to treat my condition. Or should I simply give up milk and switch to almond/soy milk substitutes?

Avoid milk and milk products and watch it over next 1 month. If it provides significant improvement then you can continue the same for life long. If it still continues to bother you, kindly let me know. We can try other dietary changes
