Can I give my kid bath daily in pnuemonia or should I take any precaution?please guide me in this regard.In how many days fever subsides after starting antibiotics?

Please enclose reports including chest x ray.. And what are the severity of symptoms and how sick he is.. Depending on that the disease course will be.. Bathing will be not an issue, if the kid is comfortable.. Or u can just do tepid sponging for time being..

Recovery from pneumonia depends on the severity like Breathing problems like respiratory rate, retractions Oxygen requirement General condition of child like lethargic or irritable or active Fever spikes Chest xray Blood reports like total counts, crp and other parameters If child is active on home based treatment, then can give daily baths but not for more than 15 minutes. Also can avoid hair bath for now.

Bath should not be a issue unless there is breathing difficulty. However we need to have a complete picture before we can decide on this in terms of age of the child, course of illness. Fever should subside in 2-3 days but it can take longer, again, it depends on the organism and host factors
