There can be several causes why your skin would turn dark or you may get pigmentation. Sun tan, overweight, pigmentation disorders like acanthosis nigricans or melasma, nutritional deficiency etc are some conditions. Unless someone examines you, we cannot know the cause. Unless we find out the cause it is difficult and pointless to treat. Please send photos with detailed history using online consult option for examination and proper treatment.,

Hi. Pigmentation can occur due to several reasons and treatment will vary depending on what exactly is the cause of your pigmentation.  So kindly send photos / see a qualified dermatologist near you for detailed evaluation and diagnosis and treatment.  You shall use a good sunscreen with spf 30  and above to help prevent worsening of pigmentation.  Warm regards,  Dr Govind Suresh Mittal,  Therapeia skin hair and ENT centre,  Bengaluru.
