Psychosis if continuous more than one month maybe Schizophrenia if it includes bizarre delusions or persisting hallucinations but it maybe Delusional disorder or Schizoaffective disorder. The point is not the diagnosis. Many people live productive lives as nurses, engineers , bankers with Schizophrenia if it gets controlled with medication. Some may not but can attend day care and do productive work e.g. In DART under sector 32 Medical College, there is yoga, occupational therapy etc. Do read Elyn Saks - Successful and Schizophrenic. She is a lawyer and was diagnosed at 16 yrs. I know many people like her.
