Lump in throat could be due to a variety of reasons, yes one of them being GERD. Although a physical exam is necessary to rule out other causes.
Next Steps
Kindly consult an ENT doctor
Health Tips
Frequent sips of warm water and avoidance of irritants such as household smoke in the meantime will help. Also, do take vitamin C and steam inhalation as well

Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT You are experiencing a persistent lump-in-throat sensation for more than four years, which most likely suggests chronic pharyngitis related to GERD or acid reflux. This condition, commonly termed laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), occurs when stomach acid repeatedly irritates the throat, leading to chronic inflammation and a feeling of something stuck in the throat. Other contributing factors can include post-nasal drip, allergies, or rarely, structural lesions in the throat
Health Tips
The mainstay of management is a combination of lifestyle changes and medical therapy.
