Persistent dandruff since 7-8 years
I have been suffering from dandruff since 2012. Initially I could stay for 1 week without washing my hair, but now I couldn't resist the itch and I'm washing my hair once in every 2-3days. I used medicated shampoos containing ketoconazole, but once I stopped using it after prescribed time, dandruff re-appeared. I have coarse curly hair and I sweat on my head during workouts everyday, after which my scalp feels a bit greasy. Due to this, from the second day after shampooing, I feel intense itching of my scalp. Please suggest if I have to shampoo everyday or is there any method to control the greasy feel on my scalp? (I use only shampoo and no conditioner, my hair is dry)

Dandruff can be treated with lotions and shampoo (not commercial ones). Some people do have more oily scalp which cause visible flakes which we call dandruff. There are some other conditions also which can present like flaking of the scalp and have to be ruled out. Do not apply oil on scalp as it will increase the problem. Please contact me with photos through online consult option for proper examination diagnosis and treatment.,
