Pertussis (Whooping Cough) – A serious infection in infants that causes coughing fits, sometimes with a “whoop” sound or gasping.- may be azithral may be given by your doctor. Reflux (GERD) – Stomach contents coming back up can irritate the throat and cause cough. Airway anomalies – Structural issues like tracheomalacia (soft windpipe) can lead to a noisy or persistent cough What you can do: Keep the baby away from smoke or sick contact.
