Permanent Lump on upper lip

Hello doctor...please help me actually due to the habit of chewing middle of my upper lips in my childhood it has developed a bump in the middle ...no lip balm or medicine seems to work its permanent..several specialists prescribed me to take co2 laser shots to repair the deformity..i am not sure if i should do that..will it affect my lip shape
