CRP only indicates that the amount of inflammation is decreasing. The treatment is usually long term, often life long depending on age and amount of disease activity. Disease activity is calculated through a scoring system called DAS 28 score. Long term remission is obtained satisfactorily with appropriate treatment and helps preventing deformity at older age.
