Paracetamol dosage
My 16 month old baby developed fever 4 days after he was given MMR injection. He was prescribed calpol 120mg/5 ml suspension. The dosage is 5 ml four times a day. He developed high fever 4 hours after the medicine was given. So i had to give him 6 doses of 5ml each in 24 hrs (with a gap of 4 hours between each dose). Is it an overdose.? What is the solution? Later i found it was written on the bottle, no more than 4 doses per day. I am very worried. Can it cause liver damage?. His weight is 7.7 kg

You can give 4ml of paracetamol every 4 to 6hourly is fine. It can be given 4hourly also,it's safe and ya liver toxicity is the common side effects but it's very rare in some unfortunate patients. In allopathy all Medicine have side effects but still we use it. As this effects are see in extreme dosing, Patient with some genetic issue etc.
