It can be treated but just be treated immediately. Else, it may grow bigger and more painful. Please send photos using online consult option for proper examination diagnosis and treatment

It is likely a bacterial infection of skin in that area. Also need to know if there is coexisting diabetes in the patient and need to know history of any drug allergies. I would suggest to get these details cleared up with a doctor before starting the treatment.
