The bottom part of my left rib hurts when I press it. It seems like I'm hurting the bone underneath. When I explain this problem to someone else, they call it acidity. But it's not. I know it, because I have also suffered from acidity in the past. It's worrying me now.

If you have a history of recent trauma such as fall and trauma to the chest it's likely you could have a fractured rib, if problems such as pain on deep breaths are present, pain on the left side of the ribs on carrying weights. It's likely to be a rib fracture. If the pain you're having is a stinging pain which is not associated with excessive sweating, pain to the left arm then it is most likely to be gastiritis especially since you have a history of gastric problems.
I would advise to follow the following lifestyle changes which could help in controlling he gastric problems:
The following lifestyle changes could help:
- Don't skip meals, you may not feel like eating but in such conditions you should have the reduced amount in frequent intervals(i.e. 3 square meals broken down to 5 or 6 as you can tolerate) and slowly increase as you get better.
- Reduce/ Avoid spicy, fried, fatty, junk and oily food
- Exercise regularly
- Increase daily intake of water to 3liters
- Avoid/Stop smoking and drinking
- Reduce stress through methods such as yoga/meditation.
- Avoid painkillers as it will increase your gastric problems at this moment.
If your problem is persistent I would advise you to go to the nearest ER so as to be examined and have the necessary investigations to find the underlying cause.
hi , it need detail examination , accoding to me its might be due to gases + acidity on primary diagnosis. if u have doubt get done ultrasound to rule out other possibilities .
