Headache in back of the head can be due to overexertion or even from originating from the neck. If you have been in wrong posture or been reading or using computer or lifting weight, it can cause such pain. Muscle strain is a common cause but such headaches need to be evaluated by a physician.
Next Steps
Check if there are any other complaints with it. Take medical advice if pain continues.
Health Tips
Avoid sudden jerky movements of neck if you feel strained, especially when travelling. Adjust your pillow height, best to avoid using one for sometime. Avoid overexertion due to reading or use of gadgets and exposure to loud noise. Once pain subsides neck strengthening exercises can help.
