Pain after intercourse

I have a simple cyst in my ovary, and I've been on novelon for a month. I'm supposed to get my period today or tomorrow. Today, when I had sex with my partner, after he pulled out I felt very deep pain in my pelvic area, which subsided into dull pain after 10 minutes. Is this because of my period, or the cyst, or something else?
