Hello.
The ultrasound shows a small solid lesion near the left ovary. As the scan quality was limited due to excessive crying, the radiologist has advised further evaluation to rule out ovarian (adnexal) torsion, which is an emergency if present.
If your child has severe or persistent abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, excessive crying, fever, or abdominal swelling, please take her to the nearest pediatric emergency department immediately. Otherwise, she should be evaluated urgently by a Pediatric Surgeon or Pediatric Gynecologist, who may advise a repeat ultrasound with Doppler and/or MRI for confirmation. Treatment depends on the final diagnosis and may require surgery if torsion is confirmed.
Next Steps
Visit a Pediatric Surgeon/Pediatric Gynecologist urgently today with the ultrasound report. Do not delay if the child has significant pain or vomiting.
Health Tips
Since the ultrasound was suboptimal, the diagnosis is not yet confirmed. Early evaluation is important because prompt treatment can preserve the ovary if torsion is present.
