Only 29 weeks but can feel head?!

My husband and I were about to have sex, when he told me that he thought he could feel our daughters head at the end of me. I thought this was ridiculous as I'm only 29 weeks but I washed my hands and felt. My cervix was extremely soft and gushy & through the wall I could feel something rock hard. I moved my finger around and it felt very round like a head! 20 minutes later I felt again and the hardness was gone. What could this be if not a head? Ps - cervix was only 3cm long at 20 week scan.
