I had been to Ent and was diagnosed octomycosis along with which she said the is small hole in ear drum which will heal by itself , nothing to worry. Dr prescribed Augmentin 1000 for 7 days, today I will complete course of antibiotics but still feel I have not recovered completely, finding bit of pain. Is there any medicine available to o treat small hole on ear drum ? And any other medicine which I can start with. What is the frequency of visiting Ent for checking hole in Eardrum

Otomycosis means fungal infection of the ear, which happens when ua ear remains wet. The small hole in ua ear drum is leading to discharge in the ear canal which is catching fungal infection. When the fungal infection treated, u need to take care to keep ua ear absolutely dry and dont allow even a drop of water in ua ear. Dont put any ear buds or match sticks in ua ear. Avoid smoking, drinking, cold drinks and spicy junk foods.
U need to show ua doctor after a month of when the infection is completely treated to see whether the perforation is healed or is it healing.
