Hi I can understand your predicament. Both clonil and nexito is indeed helpful in treating OCD as rightly advised by your doctor. I presume your OCD symptoms should be so severe that he had to prescribe both drugs at the same time. Since you have constipation at even 10 mg of clonil. I personally would advise to stop clonil and go with other options if not already tried. Other options would include try to optimize dose of nexito to Maximum tolerable dose ( max up to 30 mg) or go with others such as fluoxetine or fluvoxamine. We can also try augmentation with low dose antipsychotics such as risperidone or aripiprazole or even haloperidol (though they are antipsychotics, they are helpful in OCD). We can also try lithium as augmentation. Psychotherapy such as CBT and ERP if not given already would be beneficial too.
Next Steps
Revert back to your psychiatrist regarding your constipation complaints so that he can make adjustments in your regimen. Consult with psychiatrist for possible psychotherapy, if not provided, you can approach a clinical psychologist for the same
Health Tips
The advice I have given is based on the symptoms you have mentioned. More the details better would be the understanding of your condition. Your face to face consulting psychiatrist would be the better judge of your mental status. kindly get back if there are further clarifications required
