Hi ,
Probably you need to work on her fine motor skills. Most of the time the reason is that the child’s muscles in their hands have not developed to a point where writing is pain-free, and coordinated
Here are a few games that can help you to enhance fine motor skills: Threading beads . Playing with the soft smiley ball. Playing with play dough. Making dough balls. Separating different color pebbles with help of pegs.
To encourage writing you can make writing a fun activity for her like - Writing with different shapes of crayons.Finger writing and tracing Air writing is where the child writes big letters in the air.
Give her writing tools that are broad and then gradually keep on decreasing the broadness of writing tools.
You should be able to see your daughter eventually developing writing skills with all these methods.
You could also go for a Child assessment to understand her readiness and consult a child psychologist .
Firstly check on the child’s behaviours. Check if the kid has any kind of behaviour issues, go ahead with a LD Assessment in a psychological centre or with a child psychologist.
Next Steps
Meet a child psychologist
Health Tips
Look how the child is holding a pencil, is she able to hold a pencil properly, if not use a pencil grip holder.
It's not uncommon for children to develop writing skills at different paces. Each child has their own learning style and preferences. Instead of pushing too hard, consider making the learning process enjoyable. Engaging in activities like drawing, coloring, and playing with building blocks can indirectly enhance fine motor skills necessary for writing. You might also introduce activities that involve finger painting or tracing shapes.
If your child is not showing much interest, forcing the issue may create resistance. Instead, try to create a positive and encouraging environment. Some children may take a little more time to develop these skills, and that's perfectly normal.
If you're concerned about your child's development, consulting with a child psychologist or educator can provide valuable insights into their learning style.
Dear concerned parent, as per symptoms mentioned best would be first go psychometric assessment for behaviour and learning disorder.
Don't delay, kindly visit child psychologist.
