Hello Mr. I understood ur concern . Few things I would like to discuss , Just one test one time is incomplete to diagnose Diabetes. Some more test are required to diagnose it. Diabetes is not healthy situation of ur body but that doesn't mean it is deadliest problem on earth. Lots of options are in medical  science to control ur blood sugar level, provided that ur wife is a confirmed case of diabetes. Depression would be too fast to diagnose her but undoubtedly she is unable to adjust & cope with new situation. And this  condition may be Adjustment disorder. But all speculations can be incorrect since u have given very little details about her mood , emotions , behaviour ,sleep & personality. So most importantly get confirmed first about diagnosis of Diabetes. If she is diabetic and is not able to adjust with new circumstances and her reactions are out of proportion to the situation and persistently worsening of mood , emotions, behaviour & sleep or any other symptom present ,do consult a Psychiatrist for detailed evaluation of her Mood.
Next Steps
Consult a physician or Diabetiologist regarding diagnosis. Consult a Psychiatrist/Neuropsychiatrist regarding mood symptoms.
Health Tips
Irrespective of her diagnosis , Avoid sedentary lifestyle, that includes 1. Unbalanced diet. 2. Improper sleep. 3. No exercise 4. exceccive intake of high fat diet, junk foods. so do liitle excercise or brisk walking daily, take balanced diet & eat fixed diet at fixed time throughout the day, Most importantly do not take stress too much for each bit & peices. **  Have a peaceful and safe day **
