Nizral or ketoconazole 2%

Greetings! I have balding problem and falky dandruffs. I was suggested nizral 2% shampoo. Can anyone tell how to best use the shampoo? Coz I have heard it shouldn't be used directly and only with some other shampoo.. Please help me as to how many times a week and how to use it??
