Newborn with hypothyroidism
Hi, my daughter is 1.5 months old and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at birth and was started on thyronorm 50 mcg but after that her TSH level dropped drastically so her dosage was shifted to 37.5 but again the TSH level went down further to 0.04. Now the doc has suggested to drop the medication to 25mcg and 12.5mcg. Is it ok to reduce the medication drastically or not. Please suggest the correct medication dosage. Her current weight is 4.7

Hello there. I can understand your concern. Yes it's ok to reduce the dosage of the medicine as and when required. No problems in that. . Consult a pediatrician in person for further evaluation and management. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain. Bangalore.
