My baby was born last week Monday and they told I can make her bath next week Thursday as my baby's umbilical cord fell on Friday last week. Should I make her bath now itself?

First wk usually sponging is sufficient and after cord fall give bath . About blue or black lips after feeding have to rule out cyanosis,observe for forehead sweating while feeding and baby feed for some time and again take rest and again start feeding (suck rest suck cycle) these suggest cyanosis and need to evaluate so consult pediatrician

Baby's first bath should be after 24 to 48 hours after birth if baby's condition is stable. It should be sponge bath. After cord stump falls, full bath can be given.
Slightly blue color after feed is benign. But if it is more blue lips and tongue, then consultation with pediatrician is required to rule out congenital heart disease

If your baby is more than 2.5 kgs,you can bath the baby.
