When I was in school, a doctor told me I had IBS and said there was no cure, so I should follow a diet for six months. That was the end of it. No tests, no follow-up, no confirmation. For a few years after that, I would visit whichever doctor was nearby and get only temporary relief(at that age I could not say it fixed or not)
Eventually I just started living with the pain. When it gets severe, I rely on general physicians, who give me tablets or injections to get me through the worst of it. I am 27 now, and I am realising how much this has affected my daily life, my work, and my routine.
I would like to know which specialist I should consult for a proper diagnosis and long term management.
