My mother aged 63 MRI says small acute infarct at interior portion of left cerebellum, small infarct at the posterior portion of right insular cortex, moderate degree of communicating hydrocephalus,ischemic small vessel disease,left oto-mastoiditis,mild right maxillary sinusitis. She was unconscious for three days and was given a VP shunt last week. She opened her eyes but is not responding to questions or sound. Has movements in hands and legs. Her csf pcr is tuberculosis positive and is taking tb medicines for last two days is there any chance that she will regain her senses Thanks

Tubercular meningitis is a difficult disease to manage apart from that dhe has infarcts too. The progress in such cases is extremely slow and very frustrating.  Just keep patience....she will get better in due course of time
