Sir / mam ,i have been diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome with membranous nephropathy. I have also some edema around eyes in morning. I have also proteinurea about 11.4 g / day.
Doctor has started steroid therapy of prednisolone.
Kindly tell me the diet i should follow and the things to be avoided to cure the disease.
And should fluid restriction should be done in this or not.
And can i drink milk with proteinex ( protein powder)
And can i eat egg ,panner ,chach ,lassi ,curd or not.
Or how much protein i should take.
Please tell doctor.

Dear patient, there is no diet to cure your illness.
You can drink 2L water if your edema has subsided
Restrict salt intake in general 4-5g / day
Protein 1g/kg body weight (avoid supplements) natural protein is fine.

Fluid restriction is needed since there is edema..avoid protein powders which r not suggested by nephrologist
U can hav egg and milk products
Protein u can hav 1 to 2 g per day if creat is normal
