Hi. Congratulations on achieving the desired pregnancy. Usually the IVF centers like to just diagnose a healthy viable pregnancy and then transfer the care to any Obstetrician ( Gynecologist ) of the patient,s choice or they refer you to their known doctors. IVF pregnancies are very precious. Everyone from the patient couple to the in laws and even the doctors handling them get hyper. So you have taken wise decision to avoid travel and be with a local gynecologist. There are a few precautions that you must take. Always consult a specialist in the field. Like in your case a Obstetrician ( Gynecologist ). All over India, Many NON Gynecologists like MBBS doctors, Gen. surgeons etc AYUSH doctors have also started hospitals and entered the field of maternity care and in such precious pregnancy as your you need the doctor to be well informed. The hospital where you are seeking treatment must have round the clock access to your doctor for emergency care. There are high chances of abortion till pregnancy crosses 20 weeks, hence do the recommended tests as instructed. Listen to the Gynecologist with whom you are entrusting your precious pregnancy. Dont cross consult and recheck the information given by the IVF consultant and the gynecologist . Many people do this and fall prey to their own machinations. Ultrasound may be done as suggested ( NT scan between 11-14 weeks, and anomaly scan at 18-20 weeks ) along with double and triple or quadruple marker tests.
Next Steps
Take folic acid and other progesterone support as directed by the doctors.
