My Mom's umbilical hernia
Since past 2 -3 yrs i noticed at my Mom's Naval theres big lump kind of thing , which doctors said is umbilical hernia.In the past Mom had undergone surgery for Uterus, and she has 7 children.Since past few days She complained that the particular place where her hernia is paining occasionally, also doctor noticed that there is redness .My Moms age is 77 , and She is non diabetic and there is no blood pressure .Is it safe now to remove it at this age ?Can that be treated without removing it ?

Hi she is suffering from incarcerated umbilical Hernia, where a part of abdominal fat  ( omentum) is been stuck.  She needs surgery . it is been done by laparoscopic approach, where we make 3 small cuts measuring 5mm and reduce the content of Hernia and put a Mesh over defect.
