My father is 81yrs and has had a stroke.
Mri indicates My father had multiple strokes. Preliminary tests indicate narrowing of the carotid artery. Doctor suggests stenting however his arteries are in such a shape that doc mentioned there may be complications. Due to age does not recommend surgery. Can this be cured by medicine? How safe is stenting vs surgery?

Hello there. I can understand your concern. If the doctor think that the patient won't be able to survive the surgery or the surgery itself would be a risk for  him then i think you shouldn't go ahead. He can be managed with medicines. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain. Bangalore.
