My 21 months old has Fever
Hello Doctor, My 21 months old baby has fever between 100 and 102 F. I had given paracetamol syrup 3.5ml 2 times with 6 hr difference but it won't work then I had given ipuprofen 3 ml, it helps and reduces fever but after 6-7 hr fever came again. then again I had given ipuprofen (8 hr later). Please help me to understand how can I help my baby, although ipuprofen helping in reducing fever but it is coming again after 6-7 hr. Also how long we can give medicine to baby (num of days) Today is 2nd day and he is not ready to eat anything, may be his mouth is bitter due to fever. Baby age - 21 months Baby weight - 12.9-13 kg approx Fever - fluctuations between 99.8 - 102 F Thanks in advance

Hi, Viral fever will take 3-4 days to settle. Give paracetamol for fever.(99-100deg F) If more than 101 deg F , give ibuprofen.

Viral fever takes 3-5 days to settle. If ain't taking evn liquid diet, take to a nearby doctor/online consultation Asses if he passing urine well Pls continue syp para 250mg 4ml every 6th hourly for 48 hours Examination will be required
