My 10 month old won't sleep in the night
Dear doctors, thanks a lot for reading my queries and helping through. Am much grateful !! I am a mother of 10 month old, and ever since her birth, we both haven't slept for continuous 4-5 hrs of sleep. She is waking every 2 hrs once throughout the night. She wakes she sucks and then sleeps. Sometimes, she sucks for 1/2 an hr. I have tried every steps like dinner at 7.30 ( curd rice ), putting her in the walker to play, and full milk feed (BM) before bedtime and putting her to sleep 9.30 pm, keeping her cozy temperature (not so cold and not so hot), regularly gave a warm water bath for her legs, and a dark room. I know being a mother comes with lot of sacrifices. But I need to rest properly in the night so in the day I can work better. Also she takes 1.30 hr nap in the mid morning and takes a nap again in the eve at around 4 to 5.30 pm. I tried giving formula milk atleast for night, but she wont drink. Can anyone help me pls, my pediatrician advised untill 1 year you have to adjust:(

Infancy is a period with feed predominant diet for the baby. Breast milk is like elixir to the child for multiple reasons . Baby need to be initiated on complementary feeding after 6 complete months. Befor Child reaches 2 - 2 n half years , she should be provided to taste and try at least once -all the varieties of soft diet and regular home food being made for other members if family. Ideally starting from 7th month of life , baby should be gradually shifted from breastfeed predominant diet to soft food diet over 2 years approx. So baby may ask for feed during this period too as it is easy source of food and already known source by babys brain.
Next Steps
- initiate soft diet intervals ( eg., half cup like qauntity)between feeds and gradually increase the qauntity till child feels full and skip breastfeed episode.
Health Tips
- Can provide semisolid or homebased gruel just prior to night sleep time. - Prepare homebased pulses based powder that can be made as semisolid gruel like mix , provide to baby - Need to be patient towards this early toddler phase as its a transition phase for baby nutrition
