MRI RELIABILITY
I am feeling severely low back pain tail bone and both hip symmetrical pain , Hlab27 is negative, in FEB 2022 MRI of SI JOINTS & PELVIC was quite normal,I want to know can MRI MISS ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS in early stages

Yes… it can . Spa ( spondyloarthritis) is divided into two parts -1. Non-radiographic SpA ( no xray evidence of sacroilitis) 2. Radiographic Spa ( xray evidence of Sacroilitis) , this os also known as Ankylosing Spondylitis. Now Non-radiographic SpA : is diagnosed by clinical history of pain ( special characteristics history) plus examination , with some lab tests . MRI can be positive or negative in this phase of illness. So Diagnosis is mostly clinical with correlation with investigations.
