The key line in the report is: “No evidence of fistulous/sinus tract or obvious pus collection.” This is the most important sentence, and it means: There is no active fistula. There is no tract. There is no abscess. This is exactly what we look for when checking healing.
Next Steps
The MRI also mentions: • “Area of focal scarring in the sphincter muscle complex.” This simply means that your previous infection and abscess left behind scar tissue, which is normal after healing. Scar tissue is harmless and does not require treatment. • “Thinning and hypointense signal” This is typical appearance of scar tissue on MRI — again, a normal healed-up change. • Internal and external sphincters, levator ani, rectum → all normal • No swelling, no abnormal collection • No lymph node enlargement All of this supports that there is no active disease.
Health Tips
Even though MRI is clear, monitor for: • new pain near anus • swelling • small pimple-like opening • discharge or pus • fever with anal pain If none of these occur, you are completely fine.
