Mole spread by scratching? Will it heal?
I used to have a small birthmark mole the size of the pointy bit of a sharp pencil on my face, which was pretty much non-protruding (just very slightly). Yesterday I scratched it & made it bleed, and now it's become very noticeable and seems to have enlarged in size slightly. Have I"spread" the mole by scratching it? Will it heal to before? thx

First and foremost the diagnosis of mole has to be confirmed, sometimes patient confuse lesions of wart(verruca plane/vulgaris) with moles. Also they could be lentigenes or freckles or acrochordon or Dermatosis papulosa nigra, etc. Without examining cannot answer your questions if you have spread it or how effectively it will heal . The choice of procedure for removal of mole depends upon the size of mole... the site of where on the body mole is present... and also what type of mole it is. Please get it properly assessed by a qualified certified dermatologist to know the best procedure that would suit you. Hope this is helpful.
