Mild narrowing of carotid artery
Hi ; Recently my mother went through MRI  of brain and neck vessels...MRi showed no Abnormality in brain and report was normal.. But in MRI of neck vessles...it was writtn "soft tissue plaque absorbed in the proximal part of the right internal carotid artery causing mild luminal narrowing"..Rest all.the the internal and externa carotids were fine. Is it a very serious issue or needs stent or Endarterectomy??? Currently she is hvng clopivas ap 75; atorva 40mg.. Wll medicine b sffcnt enough for a mild narrowing?? Can thz plaque b automatically clrd or stoppd from further increasing???

These are age related changes. It’s not very serious right now. Medical management is the first treatment, it would need follow up. These plaques can break off and cause strokes. So needs to be followed.
