Melasma mark on cheekbones

Asked for Female, 30 Years

Hi, I had issue with my periods 3 years ago and i consulted a gynae, she prescribed me a oral contraceptive after which within a day i got brown pigment on both of my cheekbones. I want to get rid of this. Please suggest me creams or ointment or any solution. Thanks, Nivedita

Hi .. Melasma is a know side effect of oral contraceptives. You can start using a Kojic acid based cream on the patches at night and a sunscreen during the day, even indoors to prevent the pigmentation from increasing. For more specific treatment, visit a dermatologist
