Is it fine to take medications like folic acid and vitamin tablets after one conceives or should start before TTC (trying to conceive).

Yes. Tab FOLIC ACID 5 mg is definitely recommended before conception and during first 12 weeks.
And since you are already 34 years of age, you must try conceiving ASAP .
As rate of abortions goes on increasing with age due to poor egg quality.
