Galvus means only vildagliptin and galvus met is vildagliptin plus metformin. As per your requirement doctor may change that. Recently patent of galvus(manufactured by Novertis) is expired. In India many pharmaceutical companies are now marketing branded generics of vildagliptin. They are cheap and as per regulators their safety, effectiveness quality is almost equivalent. So there should not be any problem if you take branded generic medicines. But it is important that not to switch continuously between different brands. Choose one brand name generic and can continue. Contact doctor before having your final prescription.
