Sir/madam, My Mother in law is diagonised with thyroid condition. Her TSH value is 4.97. Doctor has prescribed her Thyronorm 25 mcg tablet per day empty stomach.is the medicine safe?and also What precautions she should take to control the level?

TSH 4.97 for a 54yr old I was would consider as normal. So it depends on her symptoms and other tests like free t4 and anti tpo antibodies before a thyroid illness can be diagnosed. I would suggest consultation with an endocrinologist
