Medical Abortion During Tuberculosis
Hello Doctor. My friend is almost over a month pregnant, approximately 30-35 days now as of 23/05/2017. We want to get the pregnancy terminated with medical abortion pills, i.e., Mifepristone(200mg) X1 + Misporostol(200mg) X4. But the problem is she was diagnosed with stage 2 tuberculosis about 5 months ago. She's been on akt-4 and rifai6. She still is on the same medication. Her last sputum AFB test result on 25/04/2017 was as follows: Positive: Scanty (4 bacilli per 100 fields). We'd like to know if it's safe to go ahead with the pills. We doubt that the vaginal bleeding after taking the pills can worsen the TB. We fear in can develop into MDR, or something much worse due to the bleeding. Also, we'd be grateful if you could suggest a better alternative to the medical abortion kit.

You can opt for medical abortion. It will not worsen your TB
