Mediastinal LymphNode Swollen
Hi Doctor, My mother in law had severe intermittent back pain, where we first started with general geriatric consultation and they advised to do physio and gave tablets. But the pain remain and severe , so consulted ortho doctor , they took xray and suggested physio and tablets. then pain still remains so suggested to take lumbar torso MRI , no issue in spine but found swollen lymph node , hence advised to consult Oncologist. Oncologist suggested to take PET scan and we found there is a possible of KoCh's or Sarcoidosis. But no lymphoma . so they advised to take biopsy of the swollen lymph node from cheat and the results are "TRUCUT BIOPSY FROM MEDIASTINAL LYMPH NODE - GRANULOMATOUS INFLAMMATION." So oncologist advised to consult pulmonologist, they checked and advised that this is TB and it needs a medication (AKT-4) . patient started having the medicine for two weeks but the back pain is still there and it is intermittent. Are we going in right direction and when the pain will reduce

You have just taken for 2 weeks only Mostly if TB must have spread to the spine bones, that could cause the pain which may take upti 6 weeks to get relief from. So suggest to continue painkillers and AKT 4 till it subsides. If unbearable ortho opinion should be sought
