Meconium inhale
My niece is born on 25th August 2017. It was a normal delivery, he was kept with supplemental oxygen for 2 days till 27th and now he is shifted to NICU . Doctor is saying he has inhaled meconium. He is taking fast breathes and baby cried 4-5 times within 3 days and nurses is saying he cries lot. He will be ok? Is situation serious any remedy ?

Meconium,which is the first stool of newborns,can be inhaled during delivery. Outcome depends on severity of the problem. Only your treating paediatrician can give you exact prognosis. Unless severe,outcome usually is good.
