MCL tear in both knees
I have pain inside of both knees (an inch over towards the inner side, where both knees meet) , which supposedly is MCL tear. It happened when I slipped while running. It has been around 10 days and the pain has not subsided. I am taking pain killers. How long does it take for MCL tear to heal. Should I go for MRI?

MCL tear is a serious injury and causes lot of disability however the good news in most of the cases it gets sprained rather than torn and MRI of the knee needs to be done and reported by a sports medicine specialist and you may require to wear a brace depending on the sprain or tear for it to heal However before getting any test done I will suggest to see orthopaedic doctor to evaluate if it is really MCL tear or sprain and whether MRI or bracing is required
