My girl is 3 months 10 day age. She is prescribed to take Maxtra oral drop for soft cold with frequent cough from my pediatrician before 5 days. Want to know max to max how many days it can be taken to remain safe for child health without no side effect ? Its work mechanism by decreasing blood pressure in vessels so that patient can breath easier & get comfort. If patient get to be sleepiness, restless, what should be done? Dont tell to go for doctor (i'll). Want just medical answer. Thank You.

In general,meds are only indicated if routine activity of the child is effected.
If mild,avoid any medicine,just give steam inhalations 5-6 times a day,and decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down.
Use paracetamol for fever and repeat every 4 hours if required.
