Manic Episode
I have Bi-polar type illness and am currently taking lithium. I quit smoking aswell as mariguana and have gone slightly manic. A 4/10 compared to my previous episodes of 7-9+. Will going untreated effect my brain? Like cause brain damage? I would prefer to not take Orlanzapeine or other drugs and just ride it out. I feel good, not overly good, but fine with-in myself.

It is commendable that you discontinued substance use and I understand your concerns regarding medicines. The most important indicator for a good prognosis of any psychiatric illness is treatment adherence and compliance. Dropping the medicines cold turkey is not advisable, work with your psychiatrist to manage medications and side effects and work with a clinical psychologist for managing the bipolar symptoms in the long run by undergoing psychotherapy.
