Can we double lithosun SR dose to twice, if we see trend of maiac attack at some particular time every year ? Patient refuses to visit doctor during maniac attack so we have to mix this with food and give it unnoticed. Will this affect in long term ?

Hello Mania can definitely be exacerbated at a certain season of year, if you're already aware that the illness of the patient recurs at some particular time of year then you have the opportunity to take him to the doctor before the actual episode. Furthermore it's not  advisable to take lithium without regular follow up with the doctor because it has a very narrow range of index. If he has multiple recurrences he can be shifted to any other mood stabilizer

Lithium is a very tricky drug it has a very narrow therapeutic index that is it needs to be monitored with blood tests of serous lithium if you are giving more than needed it can cause life threatening toxicity so my advise for this situation is meet a psychiatrist and discuss regarding difficulty giving medicines for which other treatment options which can be mixed with food easily without toxicity or adverse effects can be advised
Next Steps
Do not self medicate without opinion of the doctor
Health Tips
Seek a psychiatrist at the earliest

Hello, Lithium can't be increased like this. Also it is not advisable to give lithium without knowledge of patient. Patient requires regular monitoring of lithium levels and other few tests.
Next Steps
