Peld is an emerging technique.not all cases are suitable for peld.also depends on who is doing it.one issue with endoscopic technique for lumbar discectomy is chance of future recurrent disc prolapse.so far the gold standard technique is microscopic discectomy followed by endoscopic interlaminar discectomy ( different type of endoscopy).
