Hi doctor, my Vit. D is 25. Is that considered pretty low? What is the medicine/ solution/ remedy for that? What do I need to take? Thanks.

You have vitamin d 'insufficiency' but not 'deficiency'. Get adequate sunexposure of 30 min each day on your face and arms between 10 am and 2 pm.. you can also take vitamin d capsules 60,000 units, once weekly with food for 4 weeks, then once a month. Overuse of vitamin d is also harmful.

Hi there...I can understand your concern. From the report it looks like you are having vitamin d insufficiency. Not deficiency. And among Indians it is very common. So you can relax. Unless you are having symptoms of joint or bony pain, hair fall you can relax. Also you can tablet uprise d3 60000iu, one tablet every week for 6 weeks. For further evaluation you can consult a general physician.

Vitamin D of 25 is low but not too low. Now a days vitamin D deficiency is very common due to indoor lifestyle. If you dont have symptoms like backache, joint pain or tiredness then no need to worry. Vitamin D supplementation can be taken with Doctors advice but its not an emergency.
