Age 40 years, female. For the last 2 months, I have been experiencing sudden electric shock-like sensations from the lower back down to both legs. It happens occasionally and is associated with severe pain. I also feel tingling and numbness in the legs, and both legs often feel heavy. I do not have any known drug allergy.

Hello
Sudden shock like sensation to your legs would be called lehrmitte's phenomenon, which could mean something is wrong with the spinal cord. Would need detailed evaluation. Please consult your Neurologist
Thank you for your query. Your symptoms (electric shock-like pain from back to legs, tingling, numbness, and heaviness) may be suggestive of a nerve-related issue such as radicular pain from the spine, but other causes are also possible.
A proper diagnosis requires detailed clinical examination and, if needed, investigations like MRI spine or nerve studies. It is not appropriate to start or modify treatment without evaluation.
I would also advise not to cross-check or alter prescriptions given by other doctors online, as treatment decisions are individualized and based on full clinical assessment.
If you develop worsening weakness, difficulty walking, or bladder/bowel symptoms, please seek urgent medical attention. Kindly consult a neurologist/spine specialist for further evaluation.
