Liver Test
Hello Doctors, I took a fullbody checkup recently, it came out that I have elevated SGPT 167 (55 upper limit) and SGOT 70 (35 UL) while all other parameters are normal in liver. In lipid profile, total cholesterol 207, HDL 29, Non HDL 175, VLDL 43 and CHDL/HDL ratio 7.3. Doctor that I consult, suggested me normal life change and told me it's because of cholesterol. I want to know second opinion on the way forward. Should I start the treatment or just life style changes are enough.

Your doctor is right in advising you to change your lifestyle and diet habits. Fatty liver is to be considered when the liver enzymes are raised along with cholesterol and triglycerides, both are high .You can get an ultrasound scan of the liver to rule out fatty liver.Avoid alcohol , fatty foods and losing weight while exercising regularly  will help you.  You don't need any medicine at this time.
